Al Ain is paving the way for a transformative phase of economic advancement and diversification. Recently, the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) convened a prominent workshop, Al Ain Horizons Towards the Future 2026, which brought together essential partners, government representatives, investors, and entrepreneurs to synchronize efforts aimed at the region's growth.
The workshop emphasized the strengthening of public-private partnerships, the expansion of business opportunities, and local talent development. Key issues discussed included creating strategic project roadmaps, integrated initiatives, and sustainable growth strategies to establish Al Ain as a center for innovation and economic diversification.
A major focus of the discussions was around smart agriculture, assisting productive families, and enhancing cultural and tourism offerings. The initiative seeks to bolster Al Ain Region's reputation as a premier desert oasis, nurturing investment and entrepreneurship.
In recent years, Al Ain has drawn over AED 128.5 billion (US$35 billion) in non-oil investments spanning various sectors such as transportation, energy, and advanced manufacturing. Through coordinated planning and policy initiatives, ADDED endeavors to empower entrepreneurs, investors, and talent to seize emerging opportunities.
The workshop included presentations and in-depth discussions from significant stakeholders, including the Department of Culture and Tourism (DCT), Al Ain International Airport, Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA), Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI), Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (Nafis), and local municipalities. Experts shared valuable insights on labor market needs, investment prospects, funding mechanisms, and the private sector's role in fostering regional growth.
ADRA, ADDED's business development division, underscored its ongoing endeavors to streamline licensing processes, offer specialized guidance, safeguard commercial interests, and uphold a solid regulatory framework, ensuring the success of entrepreneurs and businesses.
This event signifies a pivotal move towards shaping Al Ain Region as a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable economic hub within Abu Dhabi, harmonizing innovation, investment, and community-driven development for long-term success.
