Akshay Kumar Lauds Niece Simar Bhatia on Her Film Debut

Post by : Mina Rahman

Bollywood icon Akshay Kumar took to social media to share a touching message as his niece, Simar Bhatia, embarks on her film career with Ikkis. In his heartfelt tribute, he reminisced about her transformation from a timid girl into a poised young actress ready for the limelight.

Accompanying Simar's debut poster from Ikkis, he noted, “From cradling you as a baby to now witnessing you enter the cinematic arena… life truly comes full circle. Simar, I’ve seen you evolve from a shy child who would hide behind her mom, to this self-assured young woman ready to embrace the camera as if it were her calling.”

He also offered her words of support for the journey that lies ahead: “It will be a challenging journey, but I know you’ll approach it with that same spark, truthfulness, and fierce determination that defines our family. The Bhatia mantra is straightforward: put in the work wholeheartedly, and then watch the universe weave its magic.”

Wrapping up his message with heartfelt pride, Akshay exclaimed, “I am immensely proud of you, beta… The world is soon to discover Simar Bhatia… but to me, you've always been a star in the making. Go and dazzle! Jai Mahadev.”

Ikkis is set to be a groundbreaking Bollywood biographical war drama depicting Arun Khetarpal's story, the youngest Indian Army officer who received the Param Vir Chakra posthumously for his valor during the 1971 Battle of Basantar. The film features Agastya Nanda in the lead role as Arun, with the legendary Dharmendra portraying Arun’s father, Brigadier M. L. Khetarpal, in what will be his final film appearance. Directed by Sriram Raghavan and produced by Maddock Films, Ikkis is scheduled for release on December 25, 2025.
