The Ajman Department of Municipality and Planning is dedicated to elevating its public health framework by enhancing inspection activities, awareness initiatives, and smart monitoring technologies, in accordance with Ajman Vision 2030. Their aim is to cultivate a secure and healthy community through the application of contemporary systems and trained local teams.
More than 2,000 Inspections Completed
During the first quarter of 2026, the Public Health Directorate executed an impressive 2,153 inspection visits. This encompassed 1,577 checks on food establishments and 576 assessments of health facilities across the emirate. The inspections were conducted following 60 structured inspection plans, highlighting the department's effective planning and implementation.
High Standards of Compliance and Training Initiatives
A total of 1,369 food and health establishments achieved commendable compliance ratings during this period, indicating heightened awareness and adherence to health regulations.
To bolster this improvement, authorities organized 37,104 training sessions for employees in the food and health sectors. These trainings are designed to foster a robust health culture and minimize violations across establishments.
Innovative Systems Elevating Inspections
The implementation of the “Raqeeb” smart system by Ajman Municipality has significantly enhanced inspection procedures. This system facilitates the scheduling of visits, manages inspector assignments, optimizes travel routes, and digitally logs field data, thereby promoting transparency and consistency in inspection outcomes.
Increase in Pest Control Requests
In the realm of public health pest control, the department noted a surge in service requests, with a total of 4,433 requests received in Q1 2026, compared to 3,828 in the same timeframe last year, reflecting a 13.65% increase.
The cumulative inspection and control operations also saw a substantial rise, totaling 568,309, a jump from 415,760 last year, marking a growth of 26.84%.
Conducted 786 Field Campaigns
The department executed 786 field campaigns across residential areas, labor accommodations, and various institutions. These included awareness initiatives, rainy-season prevention programs, and specialized training for pest control companies.
These efforts have contributed to diminishing disease-carrying pests, enhancing response times, reducing health risks, and increasing public satisfaction within the emirate.
Positive Outcomes for Public Health
Officials confirmed that these collective actions have resulted in more effective pest control, fewer health-related incidents, and improved preparedness for emergencies and crises.
Encouraging Community Involvement
Ajman Municipality has called upon residents to join in the public health initiatives by reporting any concerns via the Ajman Contact Centre at 80070, which is operational 24/7. This will enhance response times and fortify community safety.
