Air Arabia Initiates Daily Direct Route from Sharjah to Krabi

Post by : Mara Rahim

Air Arabia has officially launched a new daily nonstop flight between Sharjah, UAE, and the picturesque coastal city of Krabi in Thailand. This service commenced on 28 November 2025, providing travelers a straightforward option for connecting the two locations. The route is expected to promote tourism, business, and cultural interactions between Thailand and the UAE. Air Arabia's expansion in Southeast Asia continues with this new initiative, further strengthening its network.

The inaugural flight took off from Sharjah International Airport on 28 November 2025, where passengers were warmly welcomed upon landing at Krabi Airport. The reception featured Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister, Phipat Ratchakitprakarn, along with senior Air Arabia officials and local dignitaries. This celebration underscores the significance of the route for Thailand’s tourism sector, especially in Krabi, renowned for its stunning beaches and natural landscapes.

Krabi is one of Thailand's prime tourist destinations, famous for attractions like Railay Beach, Ao Nang, and the Phi Phi Islands. Millions flock to this region each year for its adventure activities, local cuisine, and serene resorts. The introduction of this direct flight makes it more accessible for travelers from the UAE and neighboring regions, eliminating the need for connecting flights and hence saving time.

During the ceremony, Adel Al Ali, Air Arabia's Group CEO, highlighted the flight's importance as a milestone in the airline's Southeast Asia expansion. He emphasized that the daily service aims to provide travelers with enhanced flexibility while promoting trade and travel ties between the two nations. Al Ali noted that the growing partnership between Thailand and the UAE will be further cemented by this new route.

Prior to this, Air Arabia already offered flights to Bangkok and Phuket from Sharjah. The addition of Krabi expands travel options for passengers, catering to tourists and business travelers alike, thereby enhancing their experience. The airline anticipates an increase in visitors from the Middle East, Europe, and Asia, as well as ease of short vacation planning with daily flight availability.

For many residing in the UAE, this new service proposes an exciting travel opportunity. Thailand appeals to residents for its affordability, rich culinary offerings, stunning scenery, and myriad activities. This nonstop flight enables travelers from Dubai, Sharjah, and surrounding emirates to reach Krabi conveniently. The service is particularly beneficial for families, senior citizens, and those preferring shorter travel durations, while adventure-seekers find it easier to access Krabi’s popular attractions.

Thailand’s tourism infrastructure significantly relies on international visitors. The new Air Arabia service is set to draw more travelers from the UAE and other regions utilizing Sharjah Airport, benefiting local businesses, hotels, and restaurants in Krabi. The presence of the Deputy Prime Minister at the launch signifies Thailand's commitment to enhancing tourism and welcoming more visitors.

While primarily a tourist hub, this new flight route is also poised to foster business collaborations. The UAE remains one of Thailand's primary Middle Eastern trade partners. Daily service is expected to facilitate travel for businesspeople, investors, and professionals, promoting opportunities in hospitality, retail, and tourism sectors.

The daily operation of flights allows travelers greater flexibility in their scheduling and supports airlines in meeting rising demand, especially during peak travel seasons. Nonstop service mitigates the inconvenience of lengthy layovers while promoting affordable options for international travel, aligning with Air Arabia's commitment to accessible travel.

The launch of the Sharjah-Krabi route heralds a new era for Air Arabia and those eager to explore Thailand. Looking forward, the airline plans to further expand its network throughout Southeast Asia. The success of this new route suggests more potential destinations await discovery in the near future, ultimately offering passengers a seamless journey to one of Thailand’s most scenic locales.
