Abu Dhabi University Achieves 7th Place in Arab Rankings

Abu Dhabi University (ADU) has celebrated a significant achievement in the Times Higher Education (THE) Arab University Rankings 2026, ascending seven positions to claim the 7th place among institutions in 18 Arab nations. This commendable advancement underscores the university's unwavering commitment to quality education, research excellence, and innovation.

Within the UAE, ADU proudly stands among the top three universities, rising one position from the previous year. This recognition emphasizes its growing significance in the regional and national higher education landscape.

In the rankings, ADU excelled in crucial performance areas. It secured the esteemed 1st position nationally in Teaching, highlighting its focus on delivering high-quality instruction and student-centered learning experiences. Furthermore, ADU achieved 2nd place in Research Environment, a testament to its efforts in nurturing a vibrant research culture and supporting initiatives by faculty and students.

Chancellor Professor Ghassan Aouad expressed his pride in this milestone, stating, “This achievement mirrors our persistent dedication to providing superior education and advancing research that bolsters the UAE’s knowledge economy. Advancing seven positions regionally marks a pivotal progression, encouraging us to further refine our curricula and empower the upcoming generation of leaders and innovators.”

This year’s THE Arab University Rankings featured 268 universities, an increase from 238 last year, intensifying competition among institutions. Nevertheless, ADU's upward movement illustrates its robustness across teaching, research, knowledge dissemination, and global perspectives. The ranking system serves as a comprehensive evaluation of universities' effectiveness and impact, enhancing the significance of ADU's accomplishment.

ADU improved its position in four out of five performance metrics, exhibiting its all-encompassing approach to education. The university remains dedicated to fostering innovation, research, and global interactions, equipping students with internationally acknowledged qualifications while preparing them for leadership roles.

The institution's success not only reflects its dedication to academic excellence but further solidifies its role in developing the UAE's knowledge economy.
