Abu Dhabi Greenlights AED4 Billion Housing Initiative for Citizens

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

In a significant move by UAE leadership, Abu Dhabi has authorized a new housing benefits package for 2025, allocating AED4 billion aimed at assisting 3,310 citizens throughout the emirate. This initiative aligns with the government's ongoing endeavor to bolster family stability, promote home ownership, and improve the quality of life for Emiratis as the nation celebrates the 54th Eid Al Etihad.

The new package comprises AED2.27 billion in housing loans designated for 1,768 beneficiaries, in addition to AED1.51 billion earmarked for housing grants and ready-built residences. It also incorporates loan repayment waivers for senior citizens with limited income, retirees, and families of deceased individuals. Furthermore, beneficiaries registered under the Emirati Family Growth programme will benefit from reduced housing loans, totaling AED208 million and assisting 204 citizens.

With this recent allocation, the cumulative housing benefits extended to Abu Dhabi citizens in 2025 have now reached AED15.384 billion, serving a total of 10,718 citizens this year alone. This encompasses AED11.766 billion in housing loans, AED3.1 billion in land and ready-home grants, and AED514.75 million in exemptions and reductions for eligible families.

Since the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority was founded, over 129,448 housing benefits have been granted, totaling around AED177.57 billion. The consistent delivery of these packages underscores the leadership's vision for ensuring dignified, enduring, and sustainable living practices for Emirati families while advancing the broader development aspirations of the emirate.

The introduction of this package at this time highlights its national importance, harmonizing with the values of unity and progress celebrated during Eid Al Etihad, while reaffirming the commitment to empower citizens with effective and meaningful housing solutions.
