Abhishek Bajaj, the well-known television personality and former Bigg Boss 19 contestant, has broken his silence regarding the uproar over his comments directed at co-participant Kunickaa Sadanand. After his eviction from the show, Abhishek discussed his ongoing disputes with Kunickaa, particularly concerning their roles in the kitchen. He tackled claims suggesting that he age-shamed her by referring to her as a ‘grandmother.’
During a heartfelt discussion, Abhishek firmly rejected any suggestion that he disrespected Kunickaa or mocked her age. He maintained that despite their frequent conflicts, he always treated her and other housemates with respect. “She shouldn’t have made remarks about my mother. She often crossed boundaries and played the age and gender card. My upbringing emphasized respect for elders, and I aimed to uphold that. We were all in the same boat in that house,” Bajaj remarked.
His exit from the show followed a surprising turn when contestant Pranit More was given the chance to save one person from being evicted. Pranit opted to rescue Ashnoor Kaur, leading to the elimination of both Abhishek and Neelam Giri.
Abhishek expressed his views on the term ‘grandmother,’ stating he does not perceive it as derogatory. He voiced displeasure regarding some of Kunickaa’s critical remarks towards him and Ashnoor during their time in the house, labeling her tactics as “the dirtiest game,” in contrast to others like Farrhana Bhatt, who he claims are more open in their dealings.
This incident caught the public eye when Abhishek was spotted singing “Dadi Amma Dadi Amma Maan Jao” during a tense exchange with Kunickaa. Host Salman Khan highlighted the issue during the Weekend Ka Vaar episode, stressing the importance of respecting the elderly.
As Bigg Boss 19 approaches its 11th week, the competition intensifies as contestants gear up for the finale, anticipated in about a month. Ongoing competitors include Gaurav Khanna, Amaal Malik, Pranit More, Shehbaaz Badesha, Farrhana Bhatt, Tanya Mittal, Ashnoor Kaur, Mridul Tiwari, Malti Chahar, and Kunickaa Sadanand.
