Massive Explosive Cache and Rifle Discovered Near Delhi; Two Doctors from J&K Arrested

In a significant security incident close to the national capital, law enforcement officials have intercepted 350 kilograms of explosives, an assault rifle, and other weaponry in Faridabad, Haryana. This alarming find followed the detention of two Jammu and Kashmir doctors, exposing a troubling association between medical professionals and alleged terror endeavors.

As per sources, the operation was a coordinated effort between the police forces of Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana, initiated after critical insights emerged during the questioning of Dr. Adil Ahmad Rather. He was arrested last week in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, for reportedly displaying support for the restricted terror organization Jaish-e-Mohammed through posters in Srinagar.

Investigations uncovered that Rather had ties with another physician, Dr. Mujammil Shakeel, who practices at Al-Falah Hospital in Faridabad and hails from Pulwama. Acting on Rather’s testimony, authorities seized 350 kg of explosives, believed to be ammonium nitrate, plus 20 timers, a pistol, three magazines, a walkie-talkie, and an AK-47 rifle.

Previously, Jammu and Kashmir police had retrieved an AK-47 and ammunition from Rather’s locker at the Government Medical College in Anantnag, where he had been employed. The two doctors are currently under scrutiny for their purported connections to terrorist organizations.

Faridabad Police Commissioner Satender Kumar Gupta confirmed the recovery, noting the explosives were found in a residential zone. “The recovery of such a vast quantity so close to Delhi is extremely alarming. This situation is being investigated in collaboration with intelligence agencies,” he stated.

Insiders intimated that these explosives were likely intended for a significant terror attack, though the specific operational plans remain elusive. Authorities are examining how such a large volume of explosives could transit unchecked to a site so near to Delhi.

This incident heightens concerns regarding the troubling trend of educated individuals gravitating towards extremist networks. Both doctors are presently being interrogated under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Arms Act.

In light of this seizure, security operations have ramped up in and around the National Capital Region, while forensic teams are meticulously analyzing the explosives to verify their makeup.

Authorities have assured the public that further raids are underway to identify and apprehend any other suspects connected to this case.
