The 10th Dubai Knowledge Summit has officially commenced under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, symbolizing a significant milestone for one of the world’s premiere platforms devoted to promoting knowledge and sustainable development. This event, hosted by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme, is taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre and continues until 20 November.
Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum opened the summit, reflecting on a decade of growth during which the initiative has become a pivotal gathering for experts, researchers, academics, and policymakers. She conveyed satisfaction regarding the evolution of the summit into a venue that fosters pivotal discussions, encourages forward-thinking ideas, and reinforces Dubai’s standing as a prominent hub for knowledge and innovation interchange.
This year’s summit is themed “Knowledge Markets: Developing Sustainable Communities,” focusing on how ideas, information, and innovations can be converted into developmental value. Conversations throughout the day revolved around leveraging knowledge to diversify economies, embrace technology, and empower communities in an ever-evolving landscape.
The opening ceremony revealed the Global Knowledge Index 2025, with Switzerland leading the global rankings, trailed by Singapore and Sweden. The UAE once again led the Arab region, surpassing Saudi Arabia and Qatar. The Index this year has updated methodologies, new sub-indicators, and modified statistical weights to improve accuracy and better represent nations' readiness for building economies driven by knowledge.
The first day offered a comprehensive agenda featuring panel discussions, expert talks, and interactive workshops that tackled critical subjects such as the growth of knowledge markets, sustainability, education, research, innovation, digital transformation, and the essential role of partnerships in building robust knowledge ecosystems. Global participants analyzed how collaborative thinking and knowledge sharing can assist societies in navigating rapid global changes while uncovering fresh avenues for sustainable development.
The 10th edition of the Summit symbolizes not only a celebration of previous accomplishments but also a recommitment to shaping communities ready for the future and bolstering the worldwide movement for knowledge-led advancement.
