Zayn Malik Returns to One Direction as Director After 10 Years

In an unexpected development, Zayn Malik has reportedly rejoined One Direction nearly a decade following his departure from the band. Recent business filings reveal that the “Pillowtalk” singer is now reinstated as a director of One Direction's company, PPM Music Limited, indicating a rekindling of bonds with his former bandmates after the tragic loss of fellow member Liam Payne.

As per documents submitted to Companies House on November 3, 2025, Zayn Malik’s status has been updated to Active Director of PPM Music Limited. He is also recognized as a Person with Significant Control (PSC), affording him substantial sway within the enterprise.

This marks a significant reversal from Zayn’s previous role, which ended on June 20, 2016, about a year post his highly publicized exit from the group in 2015.

Currently, Zayn collaborates with other One Direction members – Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan – as co-directors. The documents indicate that all members share the same registered address at Lee and Thompson LLP, the notable London-based law firm that has also overseen Liam Payne’s solo career.

A source close to the developments remarked, “This is a monumental moment. While tragic, Liam's passing has united them. It’s especially heartbreaking as he was a strong advocate for a reunion.”

The insider elaborated, “PPM was the original company they established when they appeared on The X Factor. The name symbolizes Princess Park Manor, the exclusive gated community they moved into after winning the show. Since Liam's passing, the boys have been in touch often.”

The comments reflect on the unfortunate death of Liam Payne, who tragically passed away last October at the age of 31 after falling from a hotel balcony in Argentina. In the wake of his death, all four surviving members – Zayn, Harry, Louis, and Niall – came together to honor his memory. They also attended Liam’s funeral, marking one of the few recent instances they have been seen publicly together.

While this announcement does not explicitly signal a complete musical reunion, Zayn Malik’s reappointment as a director of PPM Music Limited indicates a vital step towards rekindling his relationship with One Direction. Fans across the globe are already buzzing with speculation regarding potential collaborations, projects, or perhaps even a full-blown comeback.
