Yami Gautam Embraces New Projects Following Haq Triumph

Post by : Mina Rahman

Yami Gautam Dhar is basking in the acclaim of her recent film Haq, inspired by the notable Shah Bano case. With critics and fans expressing their admiration, she has now signed on for four additional films. While she withheld specifics, she remarked, “It’s the producer’s prerogative to disclose them.”

Her stellar performance in Haq has led many fans to advocate for her receiving a National Award. When queried on this matter, she smiled and remarked that she finds it difficult to respond. “I cherish all the wonderful messages I receive from my audience. Their affection is the greatest accolade for me,” she added.

Yami also addressed her absence from award functions and Bollywood events. “While networking holds significance in our field, I cannot partake in anything that doesn’t resonate with me. My focus remains on my craft while I await meaningful scripts,” she communicated.

She shared insights on success, indicating it doesn't always align with current trends. “If awards bring joy, that’s completely valid. However, it’s possible to carve your own journey to success, as today’s audiences increasingly prioritize authenticity and genuine talent,” Yami stated.

On a personal note, Yami discussed her young son, Vedavid, who is just 18 months old. When asked which of her films she plans to share with him in the future, she said, “I will decide as he matures. However, during my pregnancy while filming Article 370, my mother imparted a beautiful thought: hard work will instill values in your child. In essence, he was a part of that production too.”

Released on November 7, Haq—featuring Emraan Hashmi—continues to earn accolades for its impactful narrative and powerful performances.
