Vikram Bhatt Under Investigation Following Udaipur Complaint

Post by : Mina Rahman

Renowned filmmaker Vikram Bhatt is currently facing scrutiny in Udaipur due to a complaint regarding an alleged fraudulent film production agreement. The official report has been lodged at the Bhupalpura police station, where inquiry proceedings are underway.

Dr. Ajay Murdia, a local doctor, has accused Bhatt of breaching their contract, which involved the production of films and documentaries dedicated to his deceased wife. Murdia alleges that after paying the stipulated fees for four films, only two were produced, both lacking appropriate credit. Notably, he claims that the most costly project was never initiated.

Law enforcement is currently assessing the relevant contractual documents and agreements as they deliberate on the next steps.

Bhat has vehemently disputed the claims, asserting that the information given to law enforcement is misleading. He questioned the validity of the allegations, especially in the absence of documentation. Furthermore, Bhatt highlighted the complainant's ongoing collaboration with him on various projects, which he believes undermines Murdia's accusations of fraud. He has claimed to possess emails and contracts to back up his statements.

This conflict arises shortly after the release of Tumko Meri Kasam, the latest film backed by Dr. Murdia. Bhatt, whose filmmaking roots trace back to assisting Mukul Anand, is acclaimed for his works including Ghulam, Raaz, and the 1920 series.

The inquiry is ongoing.
