Vietnam's Prime Minister Emphasizes Commitment to Educational Advancement

Post by : Shakul

Prime Minister Le Minh Hung of Vietnam has reiterated the nation’s commitment to prioritizing education and training, emphasizing the government’s dedication to enhancing this vital sector. His remarks came during an important meeting with the Ministry of Education and Training on April 25, 2026.

The gathering saw the participation of key figures including Deputy Prime Minister Le Tien Chau and Education Minister Hoang Minh Son, as well as officials from multiple ministries and agencies. The agenda involved a thorough review of essential programs, tackling challenges, and expediting urgent educational reforms.

Officials reported notable strides in implementing pivotal resolutions tied to education reform, advances in science and technology, and digital change. A slew of laws and policies have been established to bolster the institutional framework guiding sectoral development.

Aiming for universal preschool education for children aged 3 to 5, the government also seeks to ensure stability and high standards across educational levels. A nationwide standardized textbook initiative is set to launch for the 2026–2027 academic year, aimed at harmonizing content and refining teaching methodologies.

Vietnam is dedicated to cultivating a skilled labor force by broadening training opportunities in essential industries and advanced technologies. Efforts encompass the promotion of English as a second language in schools, enhancing innovation ecosystems, and fostering collaboration among the state, educational entities, and businesses.

Despite progress, the Prime Minister acknowledged various persistent challenges. These include teacher shortages in some regions, delays in higher education restructuring, gaps in digital transformation, and issues concerning the quality and infrastructure of education in many locales.

Looking forward, the government has delineated a series of priority actions to focus on, including expediting administrative reforms, enhancing policy execution, fortifying digital data systems, and improving inter-agency coordination. Particular emphasis will also be placed on teacher welfare, especially in remote and underserved areas.

The Prime Minister highlighted that advancing education is crucial for driving economic growth, heightening labor productivity, and realizing long-term national development objectives. Authorities have been called upon to take decisive action and achieve tangible results in the months ahead.
