In a landmark development, the United States and Saudi Arabia have made significant strides in their alliance by finalizing key accords regarding civil nuclear energy and enhanced defense collaboration during Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to Washington on Tuesday. The White House heralded these agreements as a “decades-long investment in shared security and stability.”

At the heart of the discussions was a joint declaration concerning civil nuclear energy, which sets the stage for a multi-billion-dollar initiative aimed at advancing Saudi Arabia’s nuclear capabilities in the long run. In tandem with the energy collaboration, President Donald Trump endorsed a major defense agreement that includes the imminent delivery of highly sought-after F-35 advanced fighter jets to Saudi Arabia.
