Islamabad: His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, touched down in Islamabad on Friday for an official visit, furthering the robust ties between the two allied nations.
Upon his arrival at Nur Khan Airbase, he received a heartfelt welcome from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, alongside high-ranking ministers and key government officials. This warm reception symbolizes the enduring diplomatic and cultural connections shared by the UAE and Pakistan.
As the presidential aircraft entered Pakistani airspace, military jets escorted it in a show of respect and brotherhood. A formal state reception welcomed him, featuring the national anthems of both nations followed by a 21-gun salute and an honour guard to acknowledge the esteemed visitor.
The ceremonial event included performances by traditional and military bands, adding vibrancy and cultural significance to the occasion. Along the route, enthusiastic schoolchildren waved the flags of both nations, reflecting the shared warmth and goodwill between the UAE and Pakistan.
Sheikh Mohamed is accompanied by a distinguished delegation that includes Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; and Salem Mohammed Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to Pakistan, along with several ministers and senior officials.
This visit aims to enhance bilateral cooperation across critical sectors such as economic collaboration, developmental projects, and regional stability, reinforcing the strong foundation of trust and support that characterizes UAE-Pakistan relations.
