In a significant move to augment its beachfront offerings, Dubai has inaugurated Khor Al Mamzar Beach. This initiative, directed by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is part of a broader vision to enhance the city’s infrastructure and establish Dubai as one of the premier cities to inhabit by 2040.
Developed by Dubai Municipality, this beach marks the first phase of the Al Mamzar Beaches project, catering to residents, tourists, and visitors, further enriching Dubai's vibrant tourism landscape.
The inauguration ceremony was spearheaded by Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, alongside officials and community figures, featuring entertainment activities aimed at fostering community spirit.
Khor Al Mamzar Beach spans 2.75 million square feet and provides an all-encompassing experience with recreational, athletic, and relaxation facilities. The swimming area has been extended to 3.6 kilometers, a remarkable increase of 128%. A new 300-meter night beach now operates round-the-clock for guests.
One of the standout features is the first floating walkway in the region. The beach also boasts over 5.5 kilometers of tracks for walking, running, and cycling. Visitors can take advantage of amenities like outdoor gyms, volleyball courts, padel courts, and various water sports including kayaking.
The sandy shoreline has been enhanced by 110%, now covering 182,000 square meters. Additionally, public facilities have expanded by 400%, featuring 20 service points along with eight recreational zones. The expansion of food and beverage outlets now includes 19 establishments.
To ensure safety, the beach is equipped with 12 lifeguard towers and 12 emergency call points, fostering a secure environment for all users.
Dubai Municipality anticipates that the completed Al Mamzar Beaches project will draw up to 7 million visitors annually. This beach development is part of a larger AED 3 billion beachfront project that includes additional developments in Jumeirah and across various coastal locations.
This endeavor aligns with Dubai’s strategic goals, including the Quality of Life Strategy 2033 and the Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan, which prioritize enhancing public spaces, encouraging healthy lifestyles, and stimulating tourism.
Khor Al Mamzar Beach embodies Dubai's ambition to create modern, accessible, and premier beachfront destinations for a global audience.
