In 2025, the United Arab Emirates achieved significant advancements in its national housing programme, designed to bolster family stability, elevate living standards, and ensure adequate housing availability across the nation. Throughout the year, approvals for 3,567 housing projects amounting to AED2.546 billion were granted, with approximately AED478 million allocated in the final quarter. These initiatives encompassed residential loans, government assistance for low-income families, and collaborative housing projects with national banks.
The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure launched a new funding programme aimed at senior citizens, providing insurance coverage up to age 95, offering protection against death or total permanent disability.
In Abu Dhabi, agreements were finalized to create 13 residential communities worth AED106 billion, projected to deliver over 40,000 new homes and land plots by 2029. Homeowners in the emirate have also accessed new financial support options, including a community subsidy of AED250,000, which is automatically deducted from housing loans of up to AED1.75 million, alongside extended repayment periods of up to 30 years. Total housing benefits awarded in Abu Dhabi reached AED15.384 billion, assisting more than 10,700 residents.
Dubai announced housing projects valued at AED5.4 billion, including the construction of 3,004 new homes. An extra AED2 billion was allocated for building 1,100 units in locations such as Wadi Al-Amardi, Al Aweer, Hatta, and Oud Al Muteena. Additionally, the emirate introduced an affordable housing initiative aimed at delivering 17,000 units in its initial phase targeting employees in key strategic sectors.
Sharjah’s Executive Council has approved land grants for 3,500 recipients, evenly split between residential and investment plots.
