The UAE has finalized the loading of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Humanitarian Ship, a key effort aimed at delivering 10 million meals to those in need in the Gaza Strip. Fully loaded with 7,249 tonnes of food supplies today at Khalifa Port (KIZAD) in Abu Dhabi, the vessel is poised to set sail for Egypt’s El Arish Port, anticipating an arrival in early January 2026 prior to distributing aid into Gaza.
This initiative is part of a broader operation launched by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) on 25 November to alleviate food shortages and support civilians facing dire situations.
Community Engagement Makes a Difference
The campaign has received enthusiastic public backing. On 7 December, MBRGI organized a major event at the Dubai Exhibition Centre within Expo City that saw a remarkable turnout, amassing over 20,000 volunteer applications in just one week.
Volunteers participated in assembling food baskets filled with 20 essential items, designed to sustain a family of five for a week. These baskets aim to fulfill primary nutritional needs, providing balanced food suitable for children, adults, and the elderly.
Reinforcing Humanitarian Commitment
His Excellency Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Secretary General of MBRGI, emphasized that the ship embodies the UAE’s dedication to aiding Palestinian civilians amid urgent humanitarian crises.
He remarked that the completion of the loading signifies a major achievement powered by extensive public support and collaboration under Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, confirming that the UAE will persist in delivering impactful humanitarian aid and investing in projects that enhance community well-being.
Significance of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3
Mohammed AlShareef, spokesperson for Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, noted the UAE as one of the largest aid contributors to Gaza, using land, sea, and air routes to facilitate ongoing relief efforts.
He affirmed that continuous operations are focused on delivering food, medical supplies, and emergency essentials consistently, providing sustained relief for families in Gaza.
MBRGI’s Global Humanitarian Vision
MBRGI, the region's largest foundation, executed programs valued at over AED 2.2 billion in 2024. These initiatives reached approximately 149 million individuals across 118 countries, concentrating on humanitarian support, healthcare, education, innovation, and community empowerment.
Founded in 2015, MBRGI consolidates over 30 organizations into one entity, enabling effective tackling of global challenges and the direction of resources to assist vulnerable groups.
