UAE Delivers 10 Million Meals to Gaza in Humanitarian Initiative

Post by : Mara Rahim

Guided by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) has successfully organized the packing of over 10 million meals destined for the residents of Gaza. These provisions will be dispatched via the Mohammed Bin Rashid Humanitarian Ship as part of Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, a dedicated UAE effort to assist the Palestinian people in this critical time.

Sheikh Mohammed emphasized that the UAE, under the leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, ranks among the first nations to offer assistance to Gaza. He acknowledged the remarkable commitment from the community, with participation exceeding 20,000 volunteers, far surpassing the initial expectation of 2,000 volunteers.

The meal packing initiative took place at the Dubai Exhibition Centre in Expo City, drawing considerable community involvement. Sheikh Mohammed visited the site, engaged with volunteers, and praised their commitment, stating that this initiative epitomizes the UAE’s core values of generosity, solidarity, and unwavering support for the Palestinian community.

Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Secretary-General of MBRGI, highlighted that the collection of over 10 million meals builds on the UAE’s persistent humanitarian work in Gaza. He applauded the community for exhibiting profound compassion and commitment during these challenging times for the Palestinians.

MBRGI stands as the region’s largest establishment of its nature, having invested over AED 2.2 billion in 2024, thus positively impacting approximately 149 million individuals across 118 countries. The foundation is guided by five essential pillars: Humanitarian Aid & Relief, Healthcare & Disease Control, Promoting Education & Knowledge, Fostering Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and Empowering Communities.

Initiated in 2015, MBRGI consolidates more than 30 initiatives and institutions, concentrating on tackling global issues, aiding vulnerable populations, and nurturing human development. The humanitarian action supporting Gaza exemplifies the UAE’s ongoing commitment to global unity and significant meaningful support to those in need.
