Abu Dhabi to Host 5th Make it in the Emirates Event

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

The Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) convened the Industrial Resilience and Supply Chain Continuity Forum in Abu Dhabi, setting the stage for the fifth Make it in the Emirates 2026 (MIITE) event.

Scheduled for May 4 to 7, 2026, at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi, this significant industrial occasion is organized by MoIAT and ADNEC Group, alongside the Ministry of Culture, the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, and ADNOC.

Commitment to Industrial Advancement

Ministers, industry experts, and chief executives gathered to explore strategies for enhancing supply chain resilience and industrial advancement. The forum underscored the UAE’s strategic vision to upgrade its industrial sector while decreasing reliance on external imports.

Chairing the session, Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber highlighted that robust local manufacturing is essential for national security, cautioning that nations reliant on imports are susceptible to global uncertainties.

He emphasized that achieving self-sufficiency involves real production capabilities, a skilled workforce, and premium local goods. The UAE aims to fulfill crucial needs in the sectors of food, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals, all while welcoming international collaborations.

MIITE 2026: An Expansive Showcase

Officials revealed that MIITE 2026 will feature:

  • 1,162 participating companies (61% increase)

  • 88,000 sqm of exhibition area (30% growth)

  • 60% of exhibitors are SMEs

As reported by Hasan Jasem Al Nowais, the UAE has not only doubled its industrial exports but also met its 2031 targets ahead of time.

Over 4,800 products have been earmarked for domestic production, presenting fresh opportunities for investors and companies. The event will unveil innovative financing schemes and industrial policies across 12 vital sectors.

Key Themes and Initiatives

The forum addressed critical issues facing the industry, including:

  • Supply chain challenges

  • Availability of raw materials

  • Business funding and liquidity

  • Export competitiveness

It also aims to build on previous discussions from the Virtual Industrial Council conducted earlier this year.

The Importance of Culture and Innovation

Mubarak Al Nakhi underlined the pivotal role of culture in fostering economic development. The Ministry plans to highlight:

  • 50 Emirati crafts

  • 500+ products from local manufacturers

  • Engagement of 200 artisans

  • 23 interactive sessions and activities

The pavilion will showcase contemporary culinary innovations rooted in Emirati tradition, alongside collaborations with cutting-edge technologies.

Exceptional Industrial Growth

Since the inception of Operation 300Bn in 2021:

  • Industrial exports achieved AED 262 billion in 2025

  • High-tech exports rose to AED 92 billion

  • AED 473 billion contributed to the economy through the ICV programme

  • 36 trade agreements concluded globally

These accomplishments reinforce the UAE’s resilient industrial standing amid global trade obstacles.

Anticipations for MIITE 2026

The upcoming event will feature:

  • Ministerial panels on industrial advancement

  • Discussions centered on AI, automation, and sustainability

  • MIITE Awards recognizing industry leaders

  • Special attention on women’s contributions to industry

Innovations at the event will include:

  • A dedicated Industry Museum

  • A Startup Hub

  • A NextGen Hub

  • An Intelligence Hub

The UAE is determined to establish itself as a central industrial hub through a solid and adaptive manufacturing framework. With MIITE 2026 on the horizon, the nation invites global stakeholders to collaborate, innovate, and thrive together in the Emirates.
