In a remarkable display of progress, the UAE is highlighted in a recent report by the GCC Statistical Centre (GCC-STAT) in celebration of the country’s 54th Eid Al Etihad. The findings reveal that the UAE holds the top position in the Gulf region and ranks seventh globally regarding social cohesion, underlining its robust social fabric. On the economic front, the nation embraces a clear trajectory prioritizing income diversification, a knowledge-based economy, and the development of future-oriented sectors.

The UAE is proactively implementing strategic initiatives to ensure sustainable growth, including the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031, focusing on leveraging technology as a driver for development. Additionally, comprehensive plans for food and water security are set to extend until 2036 and 2051. Smart city initiatives are also progressing in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Fujairah, with an outlook stretching to 2040. Furthermore, the UAE is amplifying its emphasis on technology, space exploration, renewable energies, and advanced industries.

Enhancing its competitiveness, the UAE ranks fifth globally in the overall competitiveness index for 2025. The country leads in a staggering 223 indicators and ranks among the top five in 444 metrics. Additionally, it is positioned tenth in soft power and first in entrepreneurship for the fourth consecutive year. The nation’s significant sovereign wealth funds serve both as financial managers and strategic resources that fortify its economic stability and long-term security.

Transitioning into an AI-driven society, the UAE ranks first globally in telecom infrastructure and second in AI readiness for 2025. Making strides in digital initiatives, the country has successfully completed its first government transaction via the “Digital Dirham,” a regional first, while also achieving the digitization of over 90 percent of its government services. With UAE citizens ranking globally first in technological skills, the nation showcases exceptional capabilities in the tech domain.

Aiming for a sustainable future, the UAE is heavily investing in renewable energy with an allocation of over AED600 billion through 2050 and has set a national green hydrogen strategy to generate 15 million tonnes by 2050. It ranks sixth in the world for talent contributing to a green transition. These initiatives position the UAE as a frontrunner in energy transformation and commitment to environmental accountability.

Establishing itself as a significant player in the space sector, the UAE’s Hope Probe successfully reached Mars, marking the Arab world’s maiden mission to the Red Planet. Furthermore, the nation is gearing up for an asteroid belt exploration by 2028 and is also working on the Mars 2117 settlement project, one of the most ambitious initiatives globally. These accomplishments underscore the UAE’s vision and leadership in scientific exploration.

The UAE continues its momentum in social, economic, technological, and scientific advancements. Its strides in AI, digital services, renewable energy, and space exploration reflect a steadfast commitment to innovation, long-term development, and global prominence.
