Hans Leo Cacdac, the Undersecretary for Welfare and Foreign Employment at the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) in the Philippines, spoke highly of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for its excellent work in protecting workers’ rights.
During the "Kalayaan 2025" celebration of Philippine independence held in Dubai, Cacdac told the Emirates News Agency (WAM) that the UAE is a great example when it comes to caring for workers and respecting their dignity.
He praised the strong friendship between the Philippines and the UAE, especially their close cooperation to protect the rights of migrant workers. Cacdac also said he is hopeful that both countries will work even more closely in the future to help Filipino workers living in the UAE.
He thanked the UAE for always supporting the Filipino community and stressed the importance of continuing talks to make sure migrant workers have better conditions.
The big celebration was also attended by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, the Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence in Dubai, showing the strong ties between the two nations.
