The Egypt Defence Expo 2025 (EDEX 2025), one of the premier platforms for defence and security industries in the Middle East, was inaugurated by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. This significant event brought together numerous official delegations and global enterprises to spotlight advancements in defence technology.
When the expo opened, President El Sisi toured the UAE Pavilion, coordinated by the ADNEC Group with backing from the Tawazun Council for Defence Empowerment and the Ministry of Defence. This pavilion showcased leading UAE firms such as EDGE Group, Calidus, GAL, AMMROC, and ADNEC, presenting their innovative solutions in aerial and land systems, cybersecurity, defence manufacturing, and technical assistance.
Senior officials from the UAE, including Lieutenant General Issa Saif bin Ablan Al Mazrouei, Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces; Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi, UAE Ambassador to Egypt; Major General Yousef Mayouf Al Halami, Commander of the Land Forces; and Dr. Nasser Humaid Al Nuaimi, Secretary-General of Tawazun Council, visited the pavilion. Notably, Major General Mokhtar Abdel Latif, Chairman of the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation, represented Egyptian interests.
Attendees commended the UAE Pavilion for its exemplary organisation and the superior quality of technologies on display. This event underscored the UAE's commitment to fostering innovation in defence and advancing its defence industry.
On the inaugural day, several memoranda of understanding were executed to bolster defence and industrial collaborations between the UAE and Egypt. AMMROC concluded three agreements with the Arab Organisation for Industrialisation, focusing on aircraft, engines, and digital manufacturing. Additionally, GAL and Abu Dhabi Aviation Group signed agreements aimed at boosting joint military manufacturing and technological progress.
The UAE's engagement at EDEX 2025 reflects its dedication to forging strategic partnerships, promoting its national defence sectors on a global scale, and aiding Egypt in its defence and security advancements. These initiatives illustrate the strengthening ties between the two nations in defence technology, operational knowledge, and industrial growth.
The UAE Pavilion, along with the signed agreements, confirms the country's commitment to excellence, modernisation, and partnership in the defence sector. This expo fortifies the relationship between the UAE and Egypt, encouraging collaborative efforts in military innovation and advanced industry projects.
EDEX 2025 also served as a platform for UAE enterprises to showcase their operational competencies and forge joint ventures while exchanging knowledge with their Egyptian counterparts. This collaboration is poised to ensure long-term growth in the defence realm, benefiting both nations while establishing the UAE as a leader in regional defence technology and industry development.
