The United Arab Emirates proudly commemorates its 54th Eid Al Etihad, celebrating unity, resilience, and unyielding progress. The year 2025, designated as the Year of Community, marked several major milestones that reinforced the UAE’s stature both domestically and internationally. Under the stewardship of its visionary leadership, the nation continues its forward march towards a prosperous future.

In 2025, the UAE significantly enhanced its global presence, establishing itself as a formidable economic and humanitarian force. The nation broadened its partnerships and initiated projects that underscored its dedication to innovative development and progress. Numerous impactful initiatives were launched within the country, leading to enhanced sustainable development and improved quality of life.

A pivotal area of advancement was environmental sustainability. The UAE revealed a pioneering marine exploration mission aimed at studying seabed geology within its territorial waters. Additionally, the introduction of a new geospatial platform has aimed at optimizing agricultural practices and water resource management. The Khor Kalba Mangrove Centre in Sharjah also joined the Wetlands Link International network, which fosters wetland education and conservation globally.

The country continues to unveil substantial environmental projects, including Abu Dhabi's launch of the "Abu Dhabi Coral Garden," the largest initiative of its kind in the Middle East for coral restoration. Furthermore, Sharjah inaugurated its first solar power plant, named "SANA," which spans 850,000 square meters and produces 60 megawatts of renewable energy. Also, Abu Dhabi increased its nature reserves to cover 20% of its total land area.

A key global milestone was reached as the UAE commenced its monumental clean energy endeavor, which integrates a 5.2 GW solar plant with a 19 GWh battery storage system. This project is set to provide 1 GW of continuous clean energy, distinguishing it as the largest solar-storage combination worldwide. The UAE has also been extending its clean energy initiatives to countries like Saudi Arabia, Spain, Indonesia, Egypt, Africa, and Yemen, through Masdar, empowering millions with sustainable energy.

In the realm of digital technology, the UAE exhibited remarkable advancements, achieving a staggering 97% adoption rate of artificial intelligence tools, the highest globally. The number of software developers in the UAE surpassed 450,000. Abu Dhabi launched the UAE–US AI Campus, boasting a capacity of 5 gigawatts, establishing itself as the largest outside the United States. Moreover, a new framework for UAE–France AI collaboration was unveiled aiming to develop a 1 GW AI Campus in France while reinforcing infrastructure like data centers and supercomputers.

Significant investment announcements have been made, with MGX, in collaboration with BlackRock and Microsoft, incorporating Nvidia and xAI into the "AI Infrastructure Partnership," aimed at investing up to USD 100 billion in progressive digital and energy solutions.

To enhance digital security, the UAE Cabinet greenlighted the establishment of Google Cloud’s first Global Cyber Security Centre of Excellence in Abu Dhabi, projected to generate over 20,300 specialized jobs in cybersecurity.

On an international front, the UAE announced a US$1 billion “AI for Development” initiative at the G20 Summit, aimed at propelling AI projects throughout Africa. Domestically, four new visa categories emerged, focusing on AI specialists, entertainment, events, and cruise tourism. The new National Artificial Intelligence System is set to assist federal departments and the Cabinet from January 2026.

Throughout 2025, the implementation of several national strategies was notable, such as the National Cybersecurity Strategy, National Geospatial Information Policy, and the Emirati National Identity Strategy, among others.

These accomplishments collectively manifest the UAE's robust commitment to a sustainable, innovative, and community-centric vision for the future.
