UAE and Kazakhstan Forge New Path for Aviation Safety Collaboration

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

The United Arab Emirates has officially entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Republic of Kazakhstan, marking a significant advancement in aviation safety collaboration. This initiative is aimed at enhancing cooperative efforts in the investigation of aircraft accidents and incidents. The agreement was solidified during the Dubai Airshow 2025, highlighting both nations' dedication to augmenting their investigative capabilities and operational synergy.

The MoU was signed by Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director-General of the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of the UAE, and Talgat Lastaev, Vice-Minister of Transport for Kazakhstan. This momentous signing ceremony was held at the GCAA platform and attended by key officials, including Captain Aysha Mohammed Al Hamili, Assistant Director-General in the Air Transport Accident Investigation Sector.

As part of this cooperative framework, both countries will undertake joint efforts across several vital areas. The agreement facilitates mutual assistance during investigations, allowing for access to technical resources and specialized facilities as necessary. It also incorporates personnel exchanges for training programs that aim to enhance investigative expertise and facilitate knowledge-sharing among experts from both nations.

Furthermore, this partnership permits observers from each country to participate in one another's investigations, granting them direct exposure to various procedures and methodologies. The MoU also encompasses plans for technical visits, collaborative meetings, and the sharing of information, all in compliance with national regulations and international aviation protocols.

The signing, occurring at one of the premier global aviation events, illustrates the increasing importance of international cooperation in air safety initiatives. Through this MoU, both countries underscore their pledge to uphold superior standards in aviation oversight, continually improving accident investigation practices.
