Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan Enhance Cultural Ties

Post by : Shakul

In a move to deepen their cultural and humanitarian ties, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan held high-level discussions in Ashgabat. This dialogue coincided with the ongoing Azerbaijan Culture Days in Turkmenistan, an initiative aimed at honoring the shared legacy and enduring friendship between the two nations.

On June 5, Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov convened with Azerbaijan's Minister of Culture Adil Kerimli to assess the current status of their cultural relations and identify new avenues for collaboration. Both officials emphasized the crucial role that culture plays in fostering closer bonds and reinforcing the robust relationship shared by their countries.

The meeting placed significant emphasis on enhancing cooperation among museums, libraries, artistic groups, cultural institutions, and educational bodies. It was agreed that heightened interactions between these sectors would aid in preserving and promoting the rich cultural legacies of both nations while paving the way for future opportunities.

Officials applauded the cultural significance of the Azerbaijan Culture Days taking place in Turkmenistan, a multi-day affair encompassing film screenings, literary talks, exhibitions, and showcases of Azerbaijan’s artistic talent and traditions. A gala concert featuring esteemed Azerbaijani artists is anticipated as the highlight of these celebrations.

Discussions also covered the necessity for more joint cultural projects, exhibitions, and exchange programs. Such initiatives are considered vital in enhancing mutual understanding and cultivating deeper connections among the societies of both nations.

Another significant focus was the collaboration among creative communities and cultural professionals. Officials acknowledged that fostering engagement among artists, writers, scholars, and cultural leaders could greatly enhance the broader bilateral relationship.

In closing, both parties expressed optimism about the future of Turkmen-Azerbaijani cultural cooperation. They reiterated their commitment to advancing cultural diplomacy, launching new joint initiatives, and maintaining an open dialogue to strengthen their friendship for the mutual benefit of both nations.
