Turkmen Youth Showcase Heritage at Beijing Festival

Turkmen students residing in China proudly showcased their cultural heritage during the 22nd International Youth Cultural Festival that unfolded in Beijing on May 14, 2026. Hosted at Chengxin Square of the University of International Business and Economics, this year's theme was “Lead the Tide, Embrace the World.” The festival gathered youthful participants from over one hundred nations to honor cultural diversity and global fellowship.

With the support of the Turkmenistan Embassy in China, the students engaged enthusiastically in the festival, emphasizing their nation’s rich traditions and cultural legacy. Their involvement demonstrated Turkmenistan’s ongoing commitment to cultural diplomacy, peace, and international collaboration through youth participation.

A dedicated national pavilion representing Turkmenistan was featured at the festival. This pavilion drew numerous visitors, including diplomats, international learners, and members of various organizations, allowing them to discover Turkmenistan's national identity, accomplishments, and cultural richness.

The dynamic cultural performances of Turkmen students emerged as a highlight of the event. Their traditional dances, which represented the artistic essence and solidarity of Turkmen youth, garnered enthusiastic responses from global attendees and underscored the country's vibrant cultural tapestry.

In addition to performances, the Turkmen pavilion introduced guests to the country's traditional cuisine. Visitors experienced the warmth of Turkmen hospitality and cultural customs through food displays and presentations crafted by the students, reflecting the nation’s commitment to intercultural dialogue.

Earlier in the event, Turkmen students participated in a symposium titled “High-Quality Development of Higher Energy Education within the Belt and Road Initiative” at the China University of Petroleum. They shared insights and engaged in discussions focusing on education, energy advancement, and global cooperation.

Officials remarked that the active role of Turkmen youth in international events signifies the country’s escalating influence in forming humanitarian and educational connections globally. The students’ enthusiasm and professionalism reflected Turkmenistan’s dedication to fostering mutual understanding and global camaraderie.

The successful representation of Turkmen culture at one of Beijing’s prominent international youth platforms has further enhanced the country’s international image. This occasion underscored the significance of preserving cultural heritage while motivating young individuals to participate in global cultural exchanges and collaborations.
