Truecaller has rolled out an advanced AI voicemail service tailored for Android users in India. This complimentary feature aims to transform the way voice messages are managed, enabling users to save recordings directly onto their devices. This shift allows total control, security, and protection over messages, in contrast to conventional voicemail systems that necessitate dialing numbers or remembering PINs.
The novel Truecaller Voicemail also incorporates robust spam and scam defenses, streamlining the process of avoiding unsolicited calls. It offers intelligent call categorization, adjustable playback speed, and instant message transcription in 12 different Indian languages, such as Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati, Nepali, Punjabi, Sanskrit, and Urdu. This feature allows users to quickly glance at messages when listening may not be convenient, providing both flexibility and ease in communication.
Setting up the Truecaller Voicemail is straightforward and can be accomplished in moments, permitting unlimited voicemail capabilities directly via the Truecaller app. By embedding voicemail into device systems fully integrated with its calling platform, Truecaller is fortifying its role as an essential tool for millions of users.
Rishit Jhunjhunwala, CEO of Truecaller, stated, “Conventional voicemail was designed for an outdated era. With Truecaller Voicemail, we are redefining voice messaging for current users. On-device storage, immediate transcription, and spam filtering eliminate the constraints of previous systems, providing a reliable and user-friendly experience. This service also embraces a variety of local languages, enhancing its relevance and accessibility for users across India.”
Truecaller holds a significant standing in the global communication realm, boasting over 450 million active users and more than a billion downloads since its inception in 2009. In 2024, the app successfully thwarted approximately 56 billion unwanted calls. With its headquarters in Stockholm, Truecaller has been publicly listed on Nasdaq Stockholm since October 2021. The new AI Voicemail service is anticipated to bolster its commitment to protecting users from spam and modernizing the calling experience.
The launch signifies Truecaller’s relentless pursuit of innovation in voice and messaging capabilities. By merging AI transcription, local language provisions, and sophisticated spam management, the platform aspires to deliver a seamless, efficient, and tailored communication experience for users in India. This initiative also paves the way for wider acceptance of AI tools in everyday mobile interactions, aiding users in remaining organized, informed, and secure while navigating voice messages.
