Humane Sagar, Celebrated Odia Singer, Passes Away at 34

Humane Sagar, a prominent Odia playback singer adored for his contributions to regional music, tragically passed away on November 17 at AIIMS Bhubaneswar. At just 34, his unexpected demise has left a palpable sense of shock among his fans and the music community throughout Odisha.

Following the announcement of his death, the final post on Humane Sagar's Instagram gained significant traction. This clip, shared on November 7 from a radio studio, showcased his performance of the song “Bhagya Rekha.” Fans flooded the comments section with sentiments like “RIP” and “Miss U,” cherishing it as his last recorded moment.

Health Complications and Hospitalization

Humane Sagar was admitted to AIIMS Bhubaneswar on October 14. Initially, there were fluctuations in his health, but sadly, his situation deteriorated. His treatment involved addressing multiple severe health issues, including bilateral pneumonia, acute-on-chronic liver failure, and severe respiratory failure. Unfortunately, despite intensive medical intervention, he succumbed to multi-organ dysfunction, passing at 9:08 pm.

Tributes Pour In for the Late Singer

In the wake of his passing, the November 7 Instagram reel became a pivotal point for fans to remember him. Many expressed their sorrow and disbelief through prayers and delightful recollections of his significant impact on Odia music over the last decade. Numerous messages reflected on the sentiment that he was “gone too soon.”

Just two days before his untimely death, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik voiced his concern through social media, saying, “I am saddened to learn of popular singer Humane Sagar’s hospitalization. Wishing for his speedy and complete recovery… Get well soon, Humane Sagar.”

Musical Career and Legacy

Humane Sagar entered the music scene with the title track of “Ishq Hi Tu,” composed by Abhijit Majumdar. He amassed a notable collection of hits over the years, including well-loved tracks like “Tuma Otha Tale” and “Chehera.” His Hindi music career also commenced with the album “Mera Yeh Jahan.”
