A heartbreaking incident unfolded this past Saturday evening in California, claiming the lives of two women from Telangana, as confirmed by local authorities. The deceased have been identified as Pullakhandam Meghana Rani, 25, from Garla mandal, and 24-year-old Kadiyala Bhavana from Mulkanoor village in Mahabubabad district. Both women had been in the United States for nearly three years working towards their Master’s degrees.
Meghana and Bhavana were nearing the completion of their studies, actively seeking employment in their fields. Their aspirations took them to the US, where they aimed to gain advanced education and seize better career opportunities.
The unfortunate accident occurred while they were traveling with friends in the picturesque Alabama Hills region. Preliminary investigations suggest their vehicle lost control on a challenging road stretch, leading to a plunge into a deep gorge, which resulted in fatal injuries.
Beloved by their peers for their ambition and hard work, the sudden loss of Meghana and Bhavana has left their families and the Telangana community in shock. They are now mourning the tragic loss of their daughters far from home.
In response to this tragedy, the families have urgently reached out to the Telangana government and the Ministry of External Affairs for help. Their primary concern is the swift repatriation of Meghana and Bhavana's remains, allowing for traditional final rites to be observed.
Meanwhile, California law enforcement is conducting a detailed investigation to uncover the accident's cause and prevent future occurrences.
The Telugu community in the US has rallied to support the families during this challenging time, providing both emotional and logistical assistance as they navigate the complexities following such a tragedy.
This sorrowful event serves as a poignant reminder of life’s unpredictability, especially for young individuals pursuing their dreams far from home. The legacy of Meghana and Bhavana will remain forever cherished by those who knew them as their families seek justice and closure.
