Tragedy Strikes Tiffin Ohio: Four Lives Lost in Shooting Incident

Post by : Raina Nasser

Tiffin, Ohio – A deeply shocking shooting left four deceased, including two young children, in an event that has profoundly impacted the local community. Reports indicate that the children's mother survived the incident but is left traumatized.

The tragic event unfolded at a residence on Huss Street around 6:24 p.m. when the mother, in distress, reached out to the police. Investigators highlighted that the shooting stemmed from domestic disputes and escalated into a tragic murder-suicide.

Involved in the incident were 29-year-old Dustin Willey and 42-year-old Ryan Eagon, alongside their two children, aged 7 years and just 7 months. At the time, the children were outside near a vehicle while Willey and their mother were inside the house, sorting through belongings after a family disagreement.

Reports indicate that Eagon, who was believed to have been out of town, returned and confronted Willey inside the home. Witnesses recounted how Eagon pursued Willey, discharged several rounds, and then, tragically, shot the two children before turning the gun on Willey. Eagon subsequently took his own life.

Emergency medical services rushed Willey to Tiffin Mercy Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The 7-year-old was also hospitalized but could not be saved, while the 7-month-old and Eagon were declared dead at the scene.

Fortunately, no police officers were harmed, and responding law enforcement did not discharge their weapons. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation has joined local teams to analyze the scene and interview witnesses.

Tiffin Police Chief David Pauly expressed the community's sorrow, stating, “We are not used to such horrific events. Our thoughts are with the families impacted and the emergency personnel involved in this tragic situation.”

As the community continues to process this profound loss, investigations are ongoing to piece together the details surrounding this tragic occurrence.
