Tencent Q3 Revenue Surges 15% Fueled by Gaming and AI Innovations

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

Shenzhen, China – Tencent Holdings Ltd has announced an impressive 15% year-on-year revenue increase for the third quarter, primarily driven by noteworthy gaming results and advancements in AI-enhanced advertising services. This solidifies Tencent’s reputation as China’s leading social media and gaming entity.

For the quarter ended September 30, the tech behemoth achieved revenue of 192.9 billion yuan ($27.08 billion), exceeding the average analyst prediction of 188.9 billion yuan, based on data provided by LSEG.

The gaming segment was the primary contributor to this momentum, with domestic revenue rising by 15% to 42.8 billion yuan, bolstered by hit titles like Honor of Kings and Peacekeeper Elite. International gaming revenue skyrocketed by 43% to 20.8 billion yuan, largely due to the successful launch of Delta Force, which captivated global gamers.

Furthermore, the company’s advertising sector also experienced substantial growth, rising 21% year-on-year to 36.2 billion yuan. Tencent attributed its enhanced ad targeting capabilities to AI advancements, improving reach and performance across platforms such as WeChat and QQ.

Net profit for the quarter climbed to 63.1 billion yuan, surpassing the consensus estimate of 57.3 billion yuan, highlighting the robustness of its diverse digital ecosystem.

These results signify Tencent’s rejuvenated growth path following a challenging regulatory landscape, positioning gaming, advertising, and AI-driven solutions as central to its future expansion.
