Tara Sutaria Celebrates 30: Her Favorite DIY Face Mask Revealed

Post by : Saif Nasser

The talented Tara Sutaria, recognized for her roles in movies such as Student of the Year 2, Tadap, and Apurva, marked her 30th birthday on Wednesday, November 19. With fans and friends pouring in their birthday wishes, the spotlight returned to her beloved skincare routine, which she first detailed during a Vogue interview in 2019. Unlike many of her celebrity counterparts who opt for high-end products, Tara favors straightforward and organic formulas rooted in traditional Indian practices.

During the aforementioned interview, she disclosed that a cherished DIY face mask, inherited from her grandmother, ranks among her go-to beauty treatments. This mask boasts just four uncomplicated ingredients: yogurt, chickpea flour (commonly known as gram flour), turmeric, and honey. Tara applies this blend for roughly 15 to 20 minutes before rinsing it off, and she admits that the results are nearly immediate, leaving her skin looking vibrant and rejuvenated with minimal effort.

Additionally, she emphasized that her daily skincare regimen is quite straightforward. Her focus rests on hydration and fundamental care, which encompasses cleansing, toning, and moisturization. Although she is aware of treatments like PRP or vampire facials, she stated that they have never appealed to her, as she prefers natural methods.

Each ingredient in her grandmother’s recipe serves a vital purpose. Gram flour has been a staple in Indian skincare routines for decades, offering a gentle exfoliating effect due to its slightly gritty nature, which aids in eliminating dull skin and grime without harsh chemicals. Its protein content also contributes to maintaining skin firmness and smoothness.

Yogurt, packed with natural lactic acid, acts as a soft exfoliant. It enhances moisture retention and supports skin elasticity, especially around the cheeks and chin. Many users of yogurt-infused masks report that their skin appears more supple and hydrated thereafter.

Turmeric, a staple in Indian cuisine, delivers notable anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Its active ingredient, curcumin, is linked to improving uneven skin tone, removing acne marks, and alleviating overall irritation. Studies also suggest it promotes faster healing and supports collagen production.

Honey provides hydration and serves as a natural skin barrier. It keeps the complexion moisturized and soothed, particularly beneficial for those struggling with acne or redness. Thanks to its antibacterial qualities, honey is a favorite ingredient in face masks meant for calming breakouts.

To prepare this traditional DIY mask, one simply combines the ingredients until a smooth paste is formed. This paste is then evenly applied to the face and allowed to sit for 15 to 20 minutes before washing it off with lukewarm water. Many incorporate this mask into their routine two or three times a week for optimal results.

Tara Sutaria’s candid approach to beauty continues to resonate with fans. She opts for straightforward methods rather than luxury items or elaborate routines. Her shared DIY mask endures in popularity for being easy to make, economical, and crafted from simple ingredients readily found in most kitchens. Even after years in the spotlight, Tara’s unwavering commitment to healthy skin through uncomplicated practices remains inspiring and relatable, particularly to younger audiences.
