Renowned actor Dharmendra has officially left a Mumbai hospital, where he was treated earlier this week. His son, actor Sunny Deol, released a statement on Wednesday morning confirming this update and emphasized the importance of family privacy.
In the message, Sunny reassured fans that his father continues to recover at home, stating, “Mr. Dharmendra has been discharged from the hospital and will continue his recovery at home. We kindly request the media and the public to refrain from any further speculation and to respect his and the family’s privacy during this time,” as conveyed by his team.
Sunny expressed appreciation for the support and well-wishes from fans praying for Dharmendra's well-being.
“We are thankful for everyone’s love, prayers, and kind wishes for his continued recovery, health, and longevity. Please respect him as he cherishes you all,” added the statement.
Doctor Verifies Dharmendra’s Release
A physician managing Dharmendra's care confirmed his discharge at about 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
“Dharmendra ji was discharged from the hospital around 7:30 am. The family has decided to continue his care at home,” stated the doctor.
Addressing Misinformation
On Tuesday, unfounded rumors regarding Dharmendra's death circulated online, prompting alarm among fans. His wife, Hema Malini, and daughter, Esha Deol, responded swiftly on social media, affirming Dharmendra's condition and positive response to treatment.
Throughout his stay in the hospital, the Deol family remained close by, with Sunny and Bobby Deol, alongside Esha Deol, Abhay Deol, and Hema Malini, often visiting him.
Visits from Bollywood Icons
During his time in the hospital, a number of Bollywood luminaries came to show their support for the veteran actor. Notable figures like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan, along with Aamir’s partner Gauri Spratt, were present, demonstrating their concern for the legendary artist.
In light of the frequent media visits and growing speculation regarding Dharmendra’s health, Sunny Deol’s plea serves as a reminder for the media to uphold the family’s privacy as the actor recuperates at home.
At 88, Dharmendra remains a cherished figure in Indian cinema, boasting a career that has spanned over sixty years, as fans nationwide continue to send their heartfelt recovery wishes.
