Sundar C Withdraws from Thalaivar 173 with Deep Regret

In a surprising turn of events, filmmaker Sundar C has officially announced his withdrawal from the highly awaited film Thalaivar 173, produced under Kamal Haasan’s esteemed banner. This news, disclosed on November 13, 2025, by Sundar C’s representative, rapidly gained traction on various social media platforms. Earlier, his wife, actress Khushbu Sundar, had posted the statement on Instagram, but it was later removed.

Sundar C addressed the circumstances surrounding his decision, stating, “Due to unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances, I have come to the tough conclusion to step back from the renowned project, #Thalaivar173.”

In his thoughtful note, the filmmaker reflected on his connections with the cinema icons, sharing, “In our journeys, we occasionally must embrace paths we hadn't planned on, despite our personal dreams. My bond with these two legends spans many years, and they will always remain a source of inspiration for me. I will treasure the extraordinary moments we have experienced together recently. He also expressed his apologies to both Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan for his departure from the project, saying, “While I step away from this opportunity, I will continue to seek their guidance. I am truly grateful to both for allowing me to be a part of this grand venture. I sincerely apologize for any disappointment this news may cause to those who were eagerly looking forward to this collaboration. I pledge to make it up to you and will continue to deliver entertainment that lifts our spirits.”

The filmmaker wrapped up his message by thanking his dedicated fans for their ongoing support, stating, “Your unwavering encouragement and understanding mean everything to me. I look forward to sharing more wonderful experiences with you all.”
