Notable figures such as Jitendra, Salim Khan, Rakesh Roshan, Hrithik Roshan, Saba Azad, Saif Ali Khan, and Fardeen Khan came together, creating an atmosphere rich in nostalgia and warmth as they remembered Zarine’s benevolence and gracious spirit.

Sussanne Khan Overwhelmed with Emotion

Zarine’s daughter, interior designer Sussanne Khan, was visibly moved during the gathering. Surrounded by attendees, she struggled to hold back tears while watching a video montage showcasing her mother's life moments filled with family and friends.

Priests from various faiths led prayers during the ceremony, exemplifying Zarine’s inclusive spirit. Her family members, including her grandchildren, fondly spoke about the lessons and love she shared throughout their lives.

Sanjay Khan Reminisces About His Proposal

Actor and producer Sanjay Khan fondly recalled the day he met Zarine and proposed. “I was 18, and she was only 14. Gazing into her radiant eyes, I felt like I was seeing the universe. I asked her to marry me, and with a smile, she replied, 'If I feel the same in a year, I’ll accept.' I realized then that she was not just beautiful but profoundly wise — truly the perfect partner for life,” he shared.

The couple celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary just last April, highlighting their long-standing bond.

Hrithik Roshan’s Emotional Farewell

Hrithik Roshan, previously married to Zarine’s daughter Sussanne, expressed deep emotions while reflecting on his former mother-in-law. “It has been a privilege to love and be loved by you,” he declared, underlining Zarine's ability to warm the hearts of all who crossed her path.

Zarine’s son Zayed Khan poignantly stated, “My mother was my everything. I will miss her deeply.”

Farah Khan Ali’s Heartfelt Tribute

Sharing a touching video from the event, Zarine’s daughter Farah Khan Ali wrote a heartfelt message on social media, stating, “To the outside world, she was Zarine Sanjay Khan, but to us, she was simply Mom. She had an incredible knack for making everyone feel valued, regardless of their background or beliefs.” Farah reflected on the immense love expressed for her mother, known for her generosity and strength. “Her name means 'golden', and she truly embodied that essence. We will ensure her legacy lives on,” she concluded.

Zarine Khan passed away on November 7, 2025, at the age of 81. She leaves behind her husband Sanjay, daughters Sussanne, Farah, Simone Arora, and son Zayed. Remembered for her grace, kindness, and the binding force of her family, Zarine was a steadfast supporter of her husband’s film career.
