In a heartfelt celebration in London’s Leicester Square, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol marked the 30th anniversary of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) by unveiling a bronze statue that immortalizes their iconic film poses, sparking excitement on social media.
Kajol was accompanied by her children, son Yug and daughter Nysa. A touching moment occurred when Shah Rukh held his famed umbrella while Kajol called her children over. Nysa beamed for the lenses, while a shy Yug looked on. Admirers on social media praised the event, with many noting the striking similarity between Yug and his father, and celebrating the warmth of the family gathering.
Shah Rukh expressed at the event, “DDLJ was crafted with sincerity, telling a love story that transcends boundaries. It’s remarkable to see its enduring influence over three decades. The film is ingrained in my essence, and it’s truly gratifying to witness the ongoing affection it receives.”
Kajol echoed his sentiments, stating, “It’s astonishing that even after 30 years, DDLJ remains so beloved. Unveiling this statue felt like revisiting a cherished part of our legacy—a narrative that spans generations.”
DDLJ, directed by Aditya Chopra, debuted in 1995 and has evolved into a perennial romantic classic, continuing to resonate with audiences across various generations.
