On June 16, 2025, SpaceX successfully sent 26 new Starlink satellites into space. These satellites are part of a big plan to give fast internet to people all around the world.
The launch happened at Space Launch Complex 4 East, located at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California. The rocket used was called Falcon 9. This rocket had already flown twice before, and this was its third trip to space.
After the rocket took off, it flew for about eight minutes before reaching space. Later, the second part of the rocket completed a long burn, and almost one hour after launch, the satellites were released into their correct orbit around Earth.
An exciting part of the mission was when the first stage of the Falcon 9 rocket returned safely. It landed on a special ship floating in the Pacific Ocean. This helps SpaceX use the rocket again for future missions, which saves a lot of money.
This mission was part of Group 15-9 in the Starlink program. Each new launch like this helps SpaceX bring reliable internet to more places around the globe—especially in areas where it's hard to get good service.
SpaceX is working step by step to build a large network of satellites in low Earth orbit, and this launch was another successful step in that direction.
