Shraddha Kapoor has come forward to clarify rumors surrounding her injury during the shooting of her latest film, Eetha. Following reports on November 22, the actress spoke candidly with fans on Instagram, confirming that she is dealing with a muscle tear but is optimistic about her recovery with the right care and rest. This update comes amidst much speculation, particularly due to the absence of an official statement from the production team.
In an interactive session on Instagram, Shraddha responded to inquiries regarding her condition. She shared a brief video revealing her left leg in a cast, humorously saying she felt like a “terminator” despite the pain. Assuring her fans that the injury is manageable, she underlined that it was merely a muscle issue, dismissing fears of something more severe. She affirmed that she would be back to work soon after appropriate recovery.
In addition to her health status, Shraddha also discussed her film ventures. She mentioned that she has finished filming a project that remains undisclosed for now, but confirmed she is actively shooting for Eetha, which is helmed by her boyfriend, director Rahul Mody. Shraddha described Eetha as a narrative centered around the start-up culture, highlighting the pressures and relentless pace of contemporary life. She views this project as a departure into new artistic territory, emphasizing her pursuit of challenging roles that allow her to express complex characters. According to her, she is now taking careful strides in selecting scripts that stretch her capabilities as an actress.
An insider from the production revealed details on how the injury occurred. Shraddha was attempting a Lavani dance, an energetic folk dance characterized by rapid foot movements and vigorous spins. The choreographed track, composed by the esteemed Ajay–Atul duo, involved a sequence of swift, continuous dance steps. While draped in heavy traditional attire—complete with a heave Nauvari saree and elaborate jewelry—she experienced limited mobility during the demanding performance.
To authentically portray a young Vithabai, Shraddha had gained over 15 kilos, which aligned with the character’s authenticity. The combined factors of vigorous choreography, cumbersome clothing, and a sudden shift in weight contributing to the mishap. During one of the swift maneuvers, she inadvertently placed excessive pressure on her left foot, leading to the muscle tear that has temporarily stalled her filming schedule.
Notwithstanding her injury, sources close to the production emphasize Shraddha's optimistic attitude and resolute spirit. The film crew is currently revising the shooting schedule to accommodate her recovery timeline. Medical professionals have advised her to engage in limited movement and physiotherapy, all of which she is diligently following while maintaining interaction with her admirers online.
Fans have praised Shraddha's transparency regarding her injuries and her reflections on her career path. Supporters have taken to her social media to wish her a speedy recovery and express their anticipation for Eetha, which represents a pivotal moment in her career due to its innovative theme and her evolving narrative styles.
