Al Wathba Gears Up for Grand New Year 2026 Celebration

Post by : Mara Rahim

Al Wathba is set to unveil one of the grandest New Year’s Eve festivities in the UAE as the Sheikh Zayed Festival committee wraps up an impressive lineup. Highlighting the event will be a remarkable 62-minute fireworks show, which aims to set five Guinness World Records, complemented by the largest drone display globally. This spectacle will unfold in five stages from 8 pm to midnight, illuminating Al Wathba's skyline.

This festival will showcase a pioneering drone performance, featuring 6,500 drones orchestrating nine colossal aerial formations— a first in the world. Aligned with the countdown and fireworks, this visual treat promises an unforgettable experience. Sponsors and partners will include interactive cultural activities, as well as vital technical support for lighting and drone shows.

Attendees can indulge in traditional Emirati performances like Al Ayala and Al Razfa, performed by hundreds, along with international music groups, parades, and cultural showcases. Families will enjoy dedicated programming at the Kids’ Theatre, and in the newly opened Wonderland entertainment city featuring fun activities for children.

To prepare for the large influx of attendees, the committee is implementing enhanced crowd management with additional entry points, wider pedestrian areas, and reinforced safety measures. Entry will cease once the venue is at full capacity to maintain a safe environment.

The public is encouraged to follow the festival's official communications and secure their tickets promptly. The Sheikh Zayed Festival aims to blend tradition with innovation and global entertainment, creating a unique ambiance to welcome the year 2026 in Al Wathba.
