His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, visited the Dubai Health headquarters on Tuesday, emphasizing the emirate’s ambition to enhance high-quality, future-focused healthcare.
Accompanied by Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the First Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Health Board; and Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice Chairman, Sheikh Hamdan was updated on Dubai Health's comprehensive projects that bring together patient care, medical education, research, and community service under one robust academic health system. These efforts are designed to improve healthcare outcomes and position Dubai as a global leader in medical innovation.
Emphasizing healthcare's vital role in Dubai’s progress, Sheikh Hamdan noted that community wellbeing is key to the emirate’s sustainable prosperity, highlighting Dubai Health’s alignment with the leadership's vision as part of Dubai Social Agenda 33. This vision includes delivering advanced, research-driven healthcare services that meet global standards and cater to both preventive and curative aspects.
He commended the dedicated Dubai Health staff for their unwavering commitment to patients and families, recognizing their vital contribution to fostering trust and enhancing quality of life within the community. Sheikh Hamdan also reiterated Dubai’s goal for Dubai Health to become the premier academic health system worldwide, underpinned by research, innovation, and patient-focused care.
During his visit, Sheikh Hamdan toured the Health Operations Centre, reviewing various community-based and digital healthcare initiatives aimed at boosting accessibility and efficacy. Additionally, he was briefed on the Reaya Initiative, which offers specialized healthcare services for senior citizens and individuals with disabilities.
Officials also shared the advancements under the Patient Journey Redesign Programme, aimed at streamlining healthcare access, improving service quality, and expanding home-care and telehealth options for patients throughout Dubai.
This visit highlighted Dubai's unwavering commitment to developing a robust, inclusive, and innovative healthcare framework that aligns with global best practices.
