Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan Reviews Educational Advancements in Dubai

Post by : Mara Rahim

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, alongside his roles as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, recently visited the Al Khawaneej campus of Dubai Schools to assess initiatives aimed at reinforcing Dubai as a leading education centre. The visit highlighted strategic plans set by the Knowledge Fund Establishment, as Sheikh Hamdan engaged with classrooms and observed students deeply involved in their studies. He reaffirmed that the essence of Dubai's distinguished educational system is its people. His Highness reiterated Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's vision, which places paramount importance on investments in education and human resources as the bedrock of Dubai’s progress.

Sheikh Hamdan emphasized the ambition of the Dubai education system to cultivate future leaders and innovators by embedding national values and equipping students for international competitiveness. He underscored the significance of public-private partnerships in enhancing human capital and fostering a knowledge-driven society and creative economy. Accompanying him were senior officials from the Executive Council and Knowledge Fund Establishment, including Abdulla Mohammed Al Basti and Ahmad AbdulKarim Julfar.

The CEO of the Knowledge Fund Establishment, Abdulla Mohammed Al Awar, showcased progress in establishing a comprehensive educational system aligned with the Dubai Social Agenda 33 and the Dubai Education Strategy 2033. He shared that Dubai Schools, with campuses in Nad Al Sheba, Al Khawaneej, and Al Barsha, offer premium education infused with national values and skills for the future. The total investment in the sector surged from AED 62 million in 2021 to AED 1 billion slated for 2025, with projections soaring to AED 4 billion by 2033. Student enrollments have skyrocketed from 1,200 to 4,515, with a target of 15,000 by 2033, complemented by a remarkable 99 percent re-enrollment rate that signifies parental satisfaction and institutional success.

Dubai Schools exemplifies successful partnerships between public and private entities, ensuring that quality education remains accessible across various segments of the community through tuition sponsorship by reputable national institutions like Dubai Islamic Bank, DAMAC, Emirates Islamic Bank, Emaar, DP World, and Dubai Duty Free. Launched by Sheikh Hamdan, Dubai Schools stands as a cornerstone of Dubai's educational framework, merging academic excellence, national identity, and innovative practices to strengthen Dubai's position as a global hub for knowledge and innovation.
