In a pivotal meeting led by the Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council at Al Majaz Amphitheatre, key discussions centered on the evaluation of media performance and the identification of future strategies to enhance the emirate’s media landscape.
Important topics covered included the assessment of media institutions and the alignment of upcoming initiatives with the council’s approved strategy aimed at advancing overall media development in Sharjah.
The Chairman applauded the significant contributions of media organizations during recent regional events, underscoring their commitment to transparency in reporting and their adaptability to rapid changes. He emphasized that these contributions reflect a high level of professionalism and credibility, essential for fostering public trust in accurate information.
He acknowledged the successes of media entities over the last year, praising their strategic achievements that have reinforced the media sector’s position and improved coordination among various organizations, facilitating ongoing progress and excellence.
A review of the 2025 performance indicators indicated that media entities attained an impressive average performance rate of 95%. This highlights their efficiency, robust collaboration, and commitment to achieving strategic objectives while enhancing institutional performance.
The Sharjah Media Council also presented its first-quarter report, featuring updates on media service offerings such as filming permits, commercial media licenses, cooperative partnerships, and progress in ongoing media development projects.
Additionally, an evaluation of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority’s channels and platforms for the first quarter of 2026 revealed strong growth in viewership at local and regional levels. The “Maraya” platform reported over 10 million app visits, showcasing the effectiveness and reach of its content.
The council received updates on a new AI-driven media platform developed by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, aimed at enhancing efficiency in content creation, analysis, and media monitoring.
