Eutelsat Appoints Sébastien Rouge as Chief Financial Officer Effective February 2026

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

Eutelsat has announced a planned change at its finance helm: Sébastien Rouge, who currently leads finance at minerals group Imerys and previously served as CFO at semiconductor materials company Soitec, will take up the role of Chief Financial Officer in February 2026.

Rouge succeeds Christophe Caudrelier, who is leaving the CFO post after a three-year spell. Caudrelier’s term covered a period of intense challenge for the operator as it managed industry rivalry, major technology updates and shifting market requirements in satellite services.

Rouge brings broad experience in corporate finance and operational oversight across capital-intensive sectors such as mining and semiconductors. Market analysts say his background could help refine Eutelsat’s capital structure and support financing for upcoming satellite programmes.

The appointment comes amid a fast-evolving satellite sector, driven by surging data needs, expansion of digital infrastructure and rising competition from new space entrants. Eutelsat’s selection underscores a priority on strategic financial stewardship to keep growth on track while containing risks.

Observers expect Rouge to promote a more flexible approach to financial planning, aiming to balance tighter cost control with targeted investment in innovation. His record in dynamic, investment-heavy industries is seen as an asset for steering Eutelsat into its next phase.
