In a significant move overseen by the Ministry of Energy, four Saudi firms – TAQA, ADES Holding, Arabian Drilling, and the Arabian Geophysical and Surveying Company (ARGAS) – have officially inked agreements with the Syrian Petroleum Company. These partnerships are aimed at delivering essential services, technical expertise, and development of oil and gas fields in Syria. The agreements were made following earlier memoranda signed on 28 August 2025, alongside a series of technical workshops and site visits to relevant gas facilities.
Among the notable projects, ADES Holding has committed to the development and operational management of five gas fields: Abu Rabah, Qamqam, North Al-Faydh, Al-Tiyas, and Zumlat al-Mahar, focusing on boosting production and exploring future expansion opportunities. Additionally, TAQA has signed a master service agreement tailored for advanced energy solutions, concentrating on the establishment and maintenance of oil and gas wells with cutting-edge equipment and methodologies to optimize output and efficiency.
On another front, ARGAS has entered a long-term master service agreement dedicated to conducting 2D and 3D seismic surveys while offering specialized technical support for exploration and drilling operations. This collaboration aims to refine petroleum exploration practices and ensure a nimble, effective response to developments within Syria’s energy framework. Furthermore, Arabian Drilling has signed an agreement for providing drilling and workover services, which include rig provisions, operational backing, and workforce training targeted at oil and gas well management.
These agreements signal a deepening collaboration between Saudi Arabia and Syria in the energy sector, manifesting a mutual dedication to optimizing petroleum resources, fostering production growth, and embracing contemporary technologies. The partnerships are set to underpin sustainable progress within Syria’s oil and gas landscape.
These arrangements underscore the pivotal role of Saudi firms in delivering innovative solutions, technical guidance, and operational support that advance Syria’s oil and gas infrastructure, benefitting both nations through improved production, efficiency, and cooperation within the energy sector.
