Saudi Arabia Resumes Umrah Visas from June 10, 2025

Post by : Bandanpreet Kaur

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has officially announced that Umrah visa services will begin again from Tuesday, June 10, 2025. This is just one day after the end of the Haj 1446 AH/2025 season.

The announcement came from the Ministry of Haj and Umrah, which also shared that the first group of international Umrah pilgrims is expected to arrive on Wednesday, June 11.

Before the Haj season every year, Saudi Arabia pauses Umrah visa issuance. This is done to help manage the huge number of people coming for Haj and to ensure everything runs smoothly. Once Haj is completed, the Umrah visa process starts again.

To prepare for the upcoming Umrah season, the Ministry has told all Umrah companies and travel agents around the world to finish their service agreements with the Kingdom by May 27, 2025 (which is the 29th of Dhul Qadah 1446 in the Islamic calendar).

In the first three months of 2025 alone, over 6.5 million international pilgrims performed Umrah. This shows an 11% increase compared to the same time last year.

Umrah is a spiritual journey to the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah that Muslims can do any time during the year. It is different from Haj, which is only done once in a lifetime (if possible) and happens during specific days in the Islamic calendar.

This news brings joy to millions of Muslims around the world who are preparing to visit the holy places once again after Haj.
