The launch of Aditya Dhar’s film Dhurandhar took place in Mumbai on Tuesday, where Bollywood icon Ranveer Singh took moment to commend his 20-year-old co-star Sara Arjun, who is stepping into Hindi cinema for the first time with this project. Previously recognized for her roles as a child actor in Tamil films, Sara has garnered praise for her performances in noteworthy projects like Deiva Thirumagal and Saivam.
During the event, Ranveer referred to Sara as a “child prodigy” and likened her to acclaimed Hollywood actress Dakota Fanning, stating, “Sara stands out as a prodigy; some individuals are just born that way. Much like Dakota Fanning in the West. It’s impressive that you outperformed countless other applicants for this role. It feels like you’ve been in 50 films already. You possess a remarkable depth as a performer. You are one of the most talented actors I’ve worked with.”
He also acknowledged Sara's prior work in Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan series, expressing, “You elevate my performance, and I owe you a debt of gratitude for that. I can hardly believe this is your debut. Naturally, you’ve acted in Mani Ratnam’s projects, but this film will be your first introduction to a broader audience.”
Sara Arjun gained prominence in 2011 by portraying Vikram’s daughter in the Tamil film Deiva Thirumagal. She further solidified her status through her role in the 2014 film Saivam, produced by Vijay. Additionally, she featured as the young Nandini, a character originally played by Aishwarya Rai, in Mani Ratnam's epic films.
Dhurandhar is crafted by Aditya Dhar as the writer, director, and co-producer, with Jyoti Deshpande, Aditya Dhar, and Lokesh Dhar also serving as producers under the banners of Jio Studios and B62 Studios. The film features a stellar cast, including Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, and Rakesh Bedi.
