The Telangana administration has formalised a landmark ₹10,000-crore agreement with Salman Khan Ventures Pvt. Ltd. for the development of a state-of-the-art film production complex and integrated township. Announced during the Telangana Rising Global Summit, this venture represents one of the largest investments in the creative sector in Telangana's history, reinforcing its brand on a global scale.
Discussions leading to this milestone had begun weeks prior when Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met Bollywood icon Salman Khan in Mumbai in late October 2025. The Chief Minister invited Khan to be part of the “Telangana Rising” initiative, which aims to tantalise significant investments from Bollywood into South India.
Salman Khan commended the rapid advancement of Telangana's infrastructure and the proactive strategies of its government, expressing enthusiasm for supporting the state's global initiatives. These fruitful discussions progressed swiftly, culminating in an MoU for establishing a large-scale studio complex in Bharat Future City.
Officials have noted that the project will create thousands of jobs, featuring both direct and indirect roles across construction, film services, technical positions, tourism, retail, and hospitality.
Central to this initiative will be a premier film studio capable of accommodating extensive cinematic productions, OTT content development, post-production, and advanced VFX services, positioning Hyderabad as a key player in the filmmaking landscape, serving not only Bollywood and regional films but also Hollywood productions.
The integrated township will boast high-end infrastructure including a championship golf course, racing facilities, luxury residential developments, and hospitality zones. This blend of entertainment options with urban amenities is poised to invigorate luxury tourism in Telangana.
Talent enhancement is a key focus, with training programs intended to elevate the skills of local artists, technicians, and production staff to international standards. This initiative is anticipated to cultivate a robust talent pool, vital for the sustainable growth of the creative ecosystem.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy welcomed this investment, affirming that it will solidify Telangana as a premier destination for filmmaking, entertainment, and upscale urban development in India. The state government has pledged to facilitate seamless implementation with support in regulations, land use, and infrastructure development.
