Royal Candlelight Ceremony Honors Queen Sirikit's Legacy

Post by : Shakul

In a heartfelt tribute, Surasak Panjaroenvorakul, Thailand's Minister of Tourism and Sports, spearheaded a candlelight ceremony honoring Her Majesty Queen Sirikit. This event marked the royal celebration of the Queen’s fourth-cycle birthday anniversary, uniting senior officials and agency representatives in expressing loyalty.

Held at the prominent Sanam Luang, senior government figures, along with Cabinet members and state institution representatives, came together to pay homage through traditional royal tribute practices.

As the evening unfolded, attendees gathered at the designated venue to partake in the proceedings chaired by Anutin Charnvirakul. The ceremony featured the offering of gold and silver floral tributes at the royal portrait, alongside the lighting of candles and singing the Royal Anthem.

Minister Surasak took the opportunity to highlight Queen Sirikit's invaluable contributions to the cultural evolution of Thailand. He emphasized her pivotal role in preserving and advancing traditional Thai textiles and handicrafts, which are vital cultural assets reflecting national identity.

The Minister noted that the royal initiatives have immensely bolstered Thailand’s cultural standing on the global stage, playing a crucial role in the nation’s soft power strategy. Local crafts, community-produced items, and wisdom are being promoted internationally through tourism and cultural exchanges.

The Ministry of Tourism and Sports is committed to integrating royal development principles into its initiatives, advocating for community-based and cultural tourism projects. These efforts not only aim to boost local economies but also preserve cultural heritage, reinforcing Thailand’s image as a premier cultural tourism hub.

Earlier, Seksan Ngaosuwan represented the ministry at a floral tribute ceremony, highlighting the nation's gratitude for Queen Sirikit’s unwavering commitment to cultural preservation, social progress, and the global promotion of Thailand’s heritage.
