Rostec, Russia’s foremost state corporation in defence and technology, took the spotlight at the Dubai Airshow 2025, unveiling a diverse array of cutting-edge military and aerospace innovations. This global showcase serves as a vital platform for Russia to exhibit its latest advancements to international partners and potential buyers, bolstering its presence in the Middle Eastern defence sector.
A standout feature was the fifth-generation Su-57 fighter jet, recognized for its stealth capabilities and combat efficiency, which was showcased through live flight demonstrations. This aircraft has already established its capabilities in actual combat situations, underscoring its dependability and advanced engineering. Along with the Su-57, Rostec introduced updated variants of the Yak-130 jet trainer, the Ansat multipurpose helicopter powered by Russian VK-650 engines, and various advanced systems.
The Ka-52 attack helicopter captivated audiences with its maneuverability and tested combat performance in aerial presentations. Other key exhibits included the modernized Il-76 heavy transport aircraft, the Ka-32 firefighting helicopter, and the enhanced Pantsir-SMD-E air defence system, designed to address UAV threats with improved missile capabilities.
Rostec's exhibition extended beyond aircraft, featuring models from major Russian defence contractors such as United Aircraft Corporation, United Engine Corporation, Russian Helicopters, and KRET. These offerings cover a wide spectrum of defence requirements, including armoured vehicles, anti-tank systems, UAVs, and sophisticated training simulators.
The Middle East remains a pivotal market for Russian defence exports, accounting for nearly half of Rosoboronexport’s contracts. Regional clients appreciate Russian technology for its proven battlefield performance, exceptional reliability, and security against vulnerabilities like remote shutdown. This trust is further strengthened by Rostec’s dedication to local partnerships, technology transfers, and collaborative production initiatives in the region.
With over 30,000 contracts signed globally and a record-high order portfolio, Russia continues to affirm its status as a leading arms exporter. The Dubai Airshow 2025 highlighted Russia’s technological innovations and strategic focus on nurturing strong relationships with key international defence partners.
